Bennett Coles worked with me on the first draft of his Science Fiction novel Virtues of War. The book was strong enough that I suggested he query agents, with an eye to taking the book to the New York publishers, but Ben opted to self-publish it, impressed with the long term career earning potential of today’s ‘indie’ publishing. He has been an aggressive self-promoter and the book’s strong writing and powerful characterization have captivated readers. Today the book is selling well and his sales are growing. He is definitely one of my self-publishing success stories!
