NY Publisher Scamming Naive Authors?

I've reported before on the new 'publishing lines' that some of the New York, or Legacy publishers have started up. Essentially, they publish their slush pile as ebooks only, charging authors for editing, copy-editing -- all services that their 'regular' authors get for free -- and paying really awful royalties.

Sure seemed like a scam to me and apparently, some of these naive authors thought so, too. Penguin is getting sued in a class action lawsuit for their 'publishing' practices More...
