Great post. It's something many of us struggle with. I loved this latest post by Joe Hartlaub's post on Killzone, my current favorite shared blog, he really does engage you in a very fun, charming way. You're right, I'd check out a novel by him if he had one available, this post sold me on trying his writing out. Dale

Thanks, Dale! The reason I posted it as an example is that it is so 'ordinary'. It's not about some rarified or 'literary' topic, it's about right or left handed people, and his charming voice entertains. The world around each of us is full of day to day things we can comment on that will connect to many potential readers.

Well, darn! I didn't know there was a field of daisies where I could be showered with cash. I've been spending all my time locked up in the workshop of Write 'Til You Bleed Ink. Thanks for a very clear and informative look at what just writing a book and tossing it to the readers will accomplish. The better we understand all the tasks that make up a successful writer's toolkit, the easier and faster we can move into being successful in our own writing careers.

I'm chuckling, Suzanne. Been looking for that field, but darned if I can find it. Guess I'll have to keep butt planted in front of screen. I'm actually working on a book, 'Celebrate Indie' that will be a handbook for authors thinking about self-publishing their books, looking at real success in today's publishing world, and how to achieve it.
